    Hi,

I turn on Automatic Smush: When you upload images to your site, Smush will automatically optimize and compress them for you.

But is does nog work for my yet: Visitors can fill in a gravity form on my wordpress website en this will automatically become a post on my website after my confirm.

When they uploaded 4 images in this form I like to automatically Smush them to a max of 300 but after confirm post, the images are still original. So when I upload images with this form the images does not automatic smush. How can I solve this bug?

    Hope you can help!

    Regards,
    Sam

    Hi Anton,

    Thank you, I shall wait!

    Hi @samxi10,

I was able to replicate this behavior. But, unfortunately, due to the way Gravity Forms handles uploads, there’s no universal way for Smush to “catch” such images during upload. As an alternative solution, you can use Directory Smush to optimize images in the gravity forms folder.

    Hi Anton,

Maybe you can take a look how this plugin does it and can help you solve the problem with Smush and Gravity forms? Ajax Upload for Gravity Forms

I don’t like the plugin from Ajax Upload because when the form is send and I take a look at the draft post the immage is shown like: https://www.keigaafbrabant.nl/wp-content/uploads/gravity_forms/2-053db7ff7a371149584107b9a5ffeed7/02/2019/het%20noorden%203.JPG so you don’t see an image but a link.

Hope you can do something else I really need it to be automaticly.

    Kind regards,
    Sam

    @samxi10,

Ajax Upload for Gravity Forms have their own uploader that handles the thumbnail generation. This goes beyond the scope of core WordPress functionality and is not something that can be quickly implemented in Smush. I will create a feature request for this and if we have more similar requests, this might be something that is implemented in Smush.

    Best regards,
    Anton
