    Hi folks,

I just upgraded to 2.8, and whenever I update pages I get multiple errors. I used the automatic upgrade tool with no plugins active and this still happens with all plugins deactivated.

Here are the errors (I replaced my server username with [username]):

  • hey robert,

what happens if you replace that new wp-admin/includes/misc.php with one from 2.7.1?

(this is a great ‘problem’ — finally something new)

    What happens if nothing works?

If I replace misc.php with the version from 2.7.1 I can’t even load the page/post editor page. I get this error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function set_screen_options() in /usr/home/[username]/public_html/wp-admin/admin.php on line 45

    Cheers,
    Robert

    k, hmm… thanks for trying.

do this, if you havent already — rule out the really obvious things:

upload fresh 2.8 files — outside of the auto – upgrader, know what I mean.

are your plugins all still disabled? if not, do, then to put the stake through the chest and rename the plugins directory.

    also, who’s your host?

I gave it a try (uploaded fresh files, deactivated all plugins, renamed plugins folder), same thing 🙁

I’d tell you who my host is but then I’d have to kill you 😉 (hosting reseller)

Just for reference, it’s a FreeBSD server running PHP5.2.9.

I don’t know whether it’s related but I’m now also gettin this error when I go to upgrade a plugin:

    Downloading update from http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/google-analytics-for-wordpress.2.9.3.zip.

    Unpacking the update.

Incompatible archive PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Invalid archive structure

Should have said, the error above was happening before I renamed the plugins folder.

    Robert

OK, I’ve established that the errors I reported in the first post don’t happen on a fresh install, only an upgrade.

Surely someone else must be experiencing this issue? No?

I am experiencing the same problem! any news?

    Nothing yet… 🙁
