• I have been using WordPress since mid-December (with a domain name, itslaurenservideo.com). I have been dying to get access to downloadable themes. Today, I finally took the initiative to get ‘hosted’ at GoDaddy.com. I used the WordPress 1-Click install. I have uploaded some downloadable themes on the root server today, but I don’t know how to access them or disable the one I am using now through wordpress.com. I am horrible with computers and it was a total nightmare trying to install WordPress to my computer (which I still think I didnt do..?!?)

    Help!

  • Unpack the theme archive/zip files and upload the individual theme folders to wp-content/themes. Then navigate to Admin/Appearance/Themes to preview and/or activate a new theme.

on wordpress.com? i am on a mac, and installing wordpress on my computer wasnt successful. is there anything i can do about that?

    on wordpress.com?

you can’t upload themes or plugins on wordpress.com
you are limited to what they provide

This is wordpress.org – for folks that have paid for hosting and a domain name and installed wordpress themselves – they can upload themes and plugins to their hearts content.
