Hi Nik,
I’ve just taken a look at the site in question and it appears that you have managed to remove the PayPal payment methods from the checkout page.
Would you mind sharing your solution and marking your topic as solved?

Hi Xclamation,
I got no farther than I was before, as the persistent offenders (in the truest sense of the word, I am startin to take this personal now! 😉 ), is that I cannot remove it from the wholesale (credit) customer role.
The normal customers (logged in as ‘customer’, or not logged in as ‘guest’) now see the Authorize.net card payment gateway.
I cannot seem to figure out how to replace PayPal from the wholesale roles – it is not even enabled as a payment gateway, yet pushes itself in and kicks y Authorize.net out.
I will report here once I have a solution, but am still looking for any hints, tips, sugggestions as to what could cause this issue!
Thank you kindly!

Hi @nikc-1,
“Wholesale” is not one of the user roles that come with WooCommerce (or WordPress) out of the box. So, this role must be getting added by a plugin installed on the site.
Do you know what plugin that is? I’d recommend looking into the settings of said plugin, to see if there might be something there forcing that gateway for this type of customers. If it’s not a setting, in might be a flaw in said Wholesale plugin, or a conflict with another plugin.

Hi @fhaps,
It seems that this is done in WooCommerce using “Wholesale Roles” for this. It shows up under the WooCommerce drop down in the admin panel between Easy Upload Files and WooCommerce Email Customizer )both Plug-ins I can actually find in the PlugIn section; whereas I cannot find ‘Wholesale Roles”)
Is there an alternative I can use?
Thank you!

What you could try, to find out where that’s coming from, would be disabling all plugins – then re-enabling them one by one, while checking for these settings, to see what plugin finally makes the role come back.

Ah, that is an idea. I will need to consult wiht the site owner as this will effectively disable the site for normal use (it is essentially a selling site),
Thank you.

Hi Nik,
I would only recommend doing this test on a staging site, so that you do not affect the live site.
You could use a plugin like WP Staging to create a copy of the website, which you can use for testing purposes. That way you are able to complete the testing, and you don’t disrupt the site/sales.

Thank you for the tipp! I love WordPress!
Hey @nikc-1,
We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

thanks, that is fine. The owner has paused the issue resolution for the moment.
