• Hi … I’m a WP and elementor newbie and have a problem. I have one page on my site [www.hhcw.ca] that looks very different depending on the browser used. The problem is the large green text box appears in different spots on the screen.

Is there an easy way to design a page and have different settings for different browsers?

    TIA

    Kevin

  • I just looked at your site on Chrome, FF and Edge and they all look alike. The only time they change is if I do Control + or – to magnify the screen. It then shows as a Tablet or Mobile view depending on how small or large you set it. Is this what you asked or are you asking about Tablet or Mobile browsers. They can be defined seperatly.

I know how to check for tablet/mobile browsers. The problem is on a desktop or laptop. If there’s a way to upload a picture here let me know and I can send screenshots. Its been noticed by friends of mine who I’ve asked to review my website for me.

What browsers are they using, as I said I tried three and they were all the same. Another variable is looking at the site on different monitors and/or TV’s. If that’s the cause of the issue, it would be next to impossible to view every possible option.

As to pictures: You could put a couple pictures on one of the web page and just post the URL here. You can create the page without adding it to the menu so no one else see’s it. That’s one way.

Here is the link to the temporary page I created:

As you’ll see, on the same monitor it looks very different. Is there a delay for when format changes flow through?

Now I see what you mean. The woman is covered on all three of my browsers too. When you said the screens look different, it wasn’t the browser but the difference between looking at it in the Elementor Edit screen rather than a live view. This does sometimes happen. Click on the box that covers the woman and check your padding and margins for that widget. You may need to set the left margin to a negative value to move it over to the left. Change it and then go to the live site to see what it looks like. Elementor is much closer to WYSIWYG but there are still some things that don’t follow that rule.

Update: Make sure you move the margin for the column, I see you have a title and a text widget in the box. The column adjustment will correct both of those. Is the Picture a background image? Another option would be add a third column that overlays the image and adjust the border widths for the Green Box, and the Everyone deserves to be health box and leave the last column empty. Drag the size of the two left boxes as far left as you would like them.
Another update: If you chose the side menu as oppose to the Nav Menu, you will won’t have to left justify it.
