Every minor WordPress update breaks WordFence

Every time my host does a WordPress update to a new 5.0.x version, when i go into Plugins, WordFence is no longer loaded, and if i try to reinstall it doesn’t work until i sftp in and rename the WordFence folder.
Is this a known issue with WordFence? Any way to avoid it, as the host randomly updates it and I’d hate to not have WordFence running all the time.
