• Hello,

I am new to WordPress and I wonder if it is posible to hook up WordPress to an existing WebSite and edit the content on the WebSite without recreating it from scratch. I have installed WordPress in i separate folder and I am seeing only the “About” page which comes by default.

Do I have to install any plugings or anything else to even see the site? Do I have convert the HTML files to PHP? Is there is a way to embed WordPress component into HTML file.

I am open for any suggestions in order to handle this little problem.

I tank you in advance for your time and help.

  • WordPress in not going to be able to automatically “pull-in” content from your existing site. WP pages are different from your existing site pages. There are lots of ways you can bring your content into WordPress…good ole copy/paste, includes, links, etc.

Thank Figaro for your quick response.

Do you mean that I have to recreate all 100+ pages one by one in WP in order to see the content? Isn’t there some other not so time and effort consuming way to get this done. I do want to keep the web site the way it is and be able to let my customer to edit the content on it without they have to contact me every time for small changes. Something that will allow me to convert the HTML pages to some other format that WP will work with?

    Thank you.
