Hard to say, there’s always the possibility of plugins not working together.
I recently started to get a huge list of pages unindexed by Google because of redirect issues, and this status was confirmed by redirect detection web tools. But there was seemingly no redirection actually happening on the website. (I do not use Quick Page/Post Redirect plugin.)
When I deactivated the the Redirection Plugin, which I only used for a couple of redirects, all the pages that were reporting 301 and 302 redirects in the Google Search Console fortunately started reporting 200s again.
I’m not seeking support on this issue, but I thought I’d contribute to the conversation with my similar experience seeing as how this is a very fresh thread (at the time of writing).
@stevencombes, the point of Redirection is that it performs 301 and 302 redirects. If you disable the plugin then any URL you redirect will return its natural HTTP code, which may be 200.
I’m not sure what problem you are describing, and it doesn’t sound related to the original poster – can you provide more details?
