Has the duplicate posts issue been resolved?

I just did a search for duplicate posts and saw, “unresolved” repeated and repeated.

I noticed yesterday that one of my sites has duplicate posts, but what is worse, is that they have different categories applied to them.

The above means that I have to open an article to see which one has the right categories applied to it, before I can delete one of them.

I don’t imagine there’s going to be a way of resolving existing duplicate posts apart from using the delete button, but is the issue likely to be resolved in the next version of WordPress?
