Using EasyDNS as my web host installation?

    I’m not code or web literate at all… one of the reasons I love wordpress so much, the interface and usability is so smooth!

    Anyway, I bought a domain name through easyDNS, http://www.allpac10.com. I’m stuck on step one where I need to fill in the MySQL database information.

    1. Where/how do I get the information required to get my blog up and running?
    2. Am I going to have to sign up for some other service somewhere else or will easyDNS work?

    Thanks in advance for all of your help. The 5 minute installation looks like its going to take me a little closer to 5 days, haha.

    I’m wondering if it might just be a better idea to transfer my domain name to godaddy.com, since it has the built in compatibility with wordpress.

    Thoughts?

    did you also pay for a hosting acct.?
    If so they should have a mysql section for setting up the database
    they might also have a one click install for wordpress

    Not sure sam…

    I did but the DNS-Plus package for a different site that I have, but I see no mention of wordpress or SQL anywhere. I was hoping maybe someone with easyDNS could help me… or, like I said, I might just transfer my domain name, despite losing a couple bucks in the process.

    EasyDNS got back to me and let me know that they are not actually a hosting provider, and that I need to sign up with a seperate hosting company.

    Would it be faster/easier to just transfer my domain to godaddy and use their wordpress compatibility, or would I still have to buy server space somewhere anyway? If so, what are some of the best places to use? Thank you in advance for your help, I am very lost!!

    to be honest I would not use godaddy for hosting as they are having too many problems with their shared servers.
    Look into
    A Small Orange
    Hostgator
    Bluehost
    These are all fast and have good support

    Not necessary to transfer domain name – just get your host’s dns info and put it in easydns nameservers

    Thanks for your help sam! Sorry for all the questions.

    Is ICDsoft a good option as well? Asked around a bit and one of my friends was saying they would be a good choice.
