Doesn’t work with Network Solutions Email?

    I just had a client provide me with creds for a network solutions email account for his domain. I tried setting it up and keep getting following error:

    SMTP ERROR: Failed to connect to server: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known (0)SMTP connect() failed. https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer/wiki/Troubleshooting

    Got on “support” with Network Solutions, they say they don’t allow their emails to be used for smtp (they said we can set it up via 3rd party email client, but not to send a web form).

    This seems weird to me. Do we have confirmation from anyone here that you can’t use Network Solutions email account to make this work?

    Please help – I’ve wasted so much time on this with their customer support. Thanks!

    If you really need to use SMTP in your site and your host does not allow it, then my suggestion is to perhaps find another host. I know this is not the best solution.

    Have you heard / found that Network Solutions doesn’t allow this? They are a huge company! Is this common knowledge that you can’t use this plugin (or this solution in general) with Network Solution email accounts? I thought perhaps their customer support person was just misinformed.

    Hi, sorry but I don’t anything about Network Solutions. So I can’t answer your question.

    Because of the above comment from Network Solutions, I suggested to change host if you really need to implement SMTP in your site.
