It looks like the German translation team hasn’t updated their translation file which is why you see it in English.
As far as WP Ajaxify Comments, I keep getting a reload after posting. What are your settings to prevent this reload?
I completed the language file myself and uploaded it into wp-root/wp-content/languages/plugins.

And the terms “minutes” and “seconds” have been there before as well.
Regarding WP Ajaxify Comments, I just enabled it and chose to load the scripts in the footer. No other special settings. It’s working fine. The only thing is, that after adding a comment via AJAX, the SCE timer is not showing up until reloading the page. This was fixed by using the call from the linked support topic.

But now it does not work anymore.
I just pushed SCE 2.3.1 which should resolve the WP Ajaxify issue.
It does, thanks a lot!
Now there’s only the language issue left. Everything is German (also the new texts added with the latest version which I translated myself), except for “minutes” and “seconds” in the timer countdown, which are no new terms in the language file.

Do I have to use the language file which is put into the wp-content/languages/plugins folder or the plugin’s folder? Or both?
The wp-content/languages folder should work.
Okay, I have now updated the translations both folders, disabled and re-enabled the plugin, purged all caches. Still not showing minutes and seconds in German. 🙁
Are you sure this has nothing to do with these changes: https://i.imgur.com/dfq3bGb.png ?

Can you send me your po file to ronald@mediaron.com and I can troubleshoot from there?
Can you re-download/re-install Simple Comment Editing? I got the bug fixed.
I did a fresh re-install, but it’s still English.
I’ve discovered some mentions of Gutenberg in your code. I am using WP 5.0, but I have disabled Gutenberg and I am still using the old Classic Editor via plugin, as some other plugins I use are not ready for Gutenberg yet. Maybe that’s the reason?
I just tested it with the classic editor and your translations show up.
I just tried it on a different site (also WP5.0 and Classic Editor), with a fresh and first install of the plugin. Again, the minutes and seconds of the timer are English.
It appears I had to create JSON files of the translations. I tested it on WP 5.0 with classic editor enabled and SCE enabled, and your translations showed up.
