    0. Logn as an admin
    1. Upgrade to verssion 5.0 – upgrade appears to succeed without any error messages
    2. From the home page, click on the link to go to the dashboard (that is to say, to wp-admin/. A page is displayed without benefit of the theme styling stating “No Update Required. Your WordPress database is already up-to-date!”
    3. Click on the Continue button. The Home page is displayed – back where I was in step 1

This also happens if I enter the wp-admin/ URL directly in the browser.
This also happens if I login as an admin in a completely different browser

The following error is recorded in the web server log:

Negotiation: discovered file(s) matching request: /blahblah
/index.html (None could be negotiated)., referer: https://mysite.com/

This sort of error never appeared previous to the upgrade.

Does the upgrade to 5.0 attempt to install a file index.html in the base directory of WP? There is no such file there.
