• Hey guys,

I switched over to WordPress after running my own site for a couple years, and I love it so far. I was putting together a post, and I noticed I can no longer upload images in the Media section at all. I’ve cleared my browser’s cache, used both the flash and browser based uploaders, and tried multiple images, all to no avail. It skips the upload bar all together, going right to “Crunching” and then shows me the page as if the image uploaded, only with no image whatsoever, and of course no thumbnail or anything else appears.

I’ve been futsing with the thing for an hour now and I just cannot make it work. My plugin, NextGEN Gallery, can still upload and use images normally, I can’t figure this out!

Also, I don’t see how it can be my host. I’ve had them for 2 years, never any problems at all.

    Thanks guys!

  • What is the permissions of the wordpress/wp-content/uploads/ directory?

Also what plugins do you have? Have you tried disabling them?

NextGEN Gallery would be unrelated. Seperate app using Imagemagick for picture support.

Sorry, new to unix command line yet. Trying to get the permissions of the uploads directory but it’s going slow, if you know the command, please pass it on. 🙂

NextGEN is the only plugin I have running, other than the two that came with my installation, Akismet and Hello Dolly.

    Thanks for the help!

Are you on Windows or Linux/UNIX? If Linux/UNIX the command at a shell prompt is:
    ls -al

If you are in an FTP client usually you can right-click to get permissions.

ANd try disabling the Nextgen plugin and see if the problem persists.

Actually since I figured out the backup method I ended up just doing a clean install. I think the problem was I initially had wordpress installed in another directory and moved it. Everything else seemed to work, but it’s the only thing that changed. Thanks anyway for the help though, I appreciate it.
