WordPress on 64-bit Windows
-
I currently have a version 2.7.1 WordPress blog (Thesis theme version 1.3.3) hosted on a Linux server. However I now have access to free hosting on a fast 64-bit server running Windows Server 2008 that has both PHP and MySQL installed.
From searching around I’ve established that WordPress can be installed on a Windows server, so here’s what I’m contemplating:
1. Install a copy of the existing MySQL database onto the Windows server. This has already been done and no problems were encountered.
2. Install a fresh copy of WordPress directly on to the Windows Server.
3. Install the latest Thesis theme into WordPress.
4. In wp-config.php point WordPress to the MySQL that was installed in step 1.
Is this feasible?
Can anyone see any problems?
Comments from anyone currently running WordPress hosted on a 64-bit Windows server + IIS?
TIA
