Header.php code

Hi, i love your plugin but want to add it to this site right at the top of the homepage. Ive read your installation guidelines and copied the sample code into my header file but it doesnt add the carousel, it just adds the code as text on thehead of the site. and yes I switched out the ID for my slideshow, do you have any sample code for adding the carousel into the header.php file please?
