Navbar transparency

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to build my first wordpress site. I have a navigation bar at the top and I want to make it transparent, so you only see the text and the background image. I know that this question has been asked before, but I read those responses and tried to fix it and can’t figure out why it’s not working.
I’ve looked at the site in Google Inspect, I thought that the CSS should be in “pt-header”. I have tried to change “pt-header”, and “pt-navbar”. I even tried to change the body but that didn’t work either. I have been trying to change them to “background: transparent”, but it stays white. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Try:
.pt-navbar { background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.1); }the last value (0.1) set the color opacity (0-1)
