Hello websprout,
This may be plugins or theme conflict.
– try deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Seventeen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
Most plugins don’t have further pending updates once they are up to date. No need for WordPress to alert you to update something that is current.
The bigger problem is orphaned plugins that are mission critical to your project. Sometimes you’ll look at the plugin’s details and find out it’s been several years since the last update.
That’s a tough place to be in but often they’ll continue to work just fine… other times a little work on your part might be all that’s required or you can hire a programmer to try to fix things.
No “update” link means the particular plugin does not have a newer version (you installed the latest version)
Hi @lcf,
Please refer to my screenshot (https://prnt.sc/ljduzi) that shows that contact form version currently we are using is 4.2 but if you go to the contact form 7 official page, you will see that the latest version is 5.0.5..
you can manually download the Contact Form 7 plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7/) and upload to your site to replace the old version
I found out the reason that it is not showing the ‘update’ link for some plugins. The reason is because the wordpress version is not updated to compatible with the newer plugins hence it won’t show there are updates. Learn something today so just sharing with readers here.
