Change File Destination

I currently have wordpress installed under “root/wordpress”. If I was to change the name of this folder from wordpress to something else(thus will be http://www.site.com/newname), will I have to change more files or will it work just like that? I don’t want to change it’s name to have a new path in case it breaks everything with wordpress.
