I have a brand new install of WordPress. The ONLY plugin I’ve added is UpDraftPlus. When I click on it via the dashboard I get the following error:

If you can still read these words after the page finishes loading, then there is a JavaScript or jQuery problem in the site.

Since there is no plugin o cause a conflict, does this mean the problem is with UpDraftPlus? How do I fix this? I very new at this.

    Hi,

Do you have a custom theme or code any where on your site?

Could you try the default theme and see if this resolves it or can you temporarily remove your custom code?

    Best Wishes,

    Hi Ashley,

Thank you for answering. I’m running the default WordPress theme Twenty Seventeen. All other themes have been deleted.

The error remains. I don’t know what to do.

Do you have any JavaScript exceptions in the web browser’s JavaScript console?

Does the problem go away if you de-activate all extensions in your web browser? (Some extensions add JavaScript to the page).

Does the page finish loading or does the browser indicate it is still (eternally) loading?

    David
