• I have wordpress 2.7.1 I need to upload some images, I have done this before many times. Now today I keep getting the error –

The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/user/public_html/dot/wp-content/uploads/2009/05

no matter what I do or try I keep getting that error on posts and pages it doesn’t matter.

What is wrong? Is this wordpress or maybe my server?

  • Hi,

    Check with these tricks:

    1) Please ask your hosting service provider to grant 766 recursive permissions to wp-contents/upload folder

I made sure that the wp-contents/uploads is set to 755 and tried 766 still getting the same error.

Is there a meaning to recursive. I use FileZilla to upload to the server and set it this way.

I am still getting the same error no matter what I do.

I have multiple domians on the same server, this domain is the only one that will not let me upload images. It did last week but now it won’t.

I have a few blogs installed on this domain and none of them will let me upload an image.

    What could be the problem?

    Laura
