    WP 4.9.8
    WF 7.1.16 free version

I use ManageWP to manage my WP websites and recently I copied one demonstration website to another demonstration website. Now I’m receiving the error message that an admin user was created outside of WordPress and this is correct since ManageWP created the admin user for me under my instructions.

I’m sure that I’ve done this before and not received this error.

I know I can ignore this error but is there any other way to stop this error from showing up? I’m actually using the admin user, I’ve updated it but obviously WF knows the difference.

Otherwise I’ll have to manually create the new admin user rather than use ManageWP.

    Thanks for your help,
    Karen.

  • Hi Karen,
The “admin created outside of WordPress” warning happens when Wordfence doesn’t have a record of the admin having been created. So this will happen either if the admin was created directly via the database as opposed to inside of the WordPress administrative interface or it can happen if Wordfence is deactivated while the admin is created.

If you want to avoid it you’d have to create the WordPress user inside of WordPress and while Wordfence is activated. If you know that you’ve created the admin it’s perfectly safe to ignore the warning though.

    Hi @mtgamberwesbitedesign,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’ve gone ahead and marked this thread as resolved.

Please feel free to open another thread if you’re still having issues with Wordfence.

    Thanks!
