Settings Title Prefixes

Still learning but cannot find an easy answer to whether it’s possible to:-

(a) Create a Title Prefix that is blank, so those who don’t want to enter a name Title Prefix can select this.

(b) How to alter the default listing so the blank one, or another, can be made the first, default, option.

(c) How to rearrange the select list for Title Prefixes in different orders.

At present “Mr” is the default option and first in any list, no matter how they are entered in the settings. Would be nice if the Settings allowed the Title Prefix to reflect the order in which they are created/selected, and included capacity to create a blank option, easy in HTML, difficult here.

I’ve tried hacking the template.php and creating an override in my child theme but I’m no expert in that level of code and it’s not being accepted.

Over to someone more expert than me.
