Installing a WordPress theme on Dreamhost

    I’ve been running WP on DH for some time now, using the Barthleme theme. No problems.

    I decided to try the Bella theme. I downloaded it from the WP site, FTPed it over to the proper domain and folder at DH.

    I logged into DH, went to the dashboard, looked at the site, clicked Appearance, saw the Bella theme listed there and clicked on it to get a preview.

    Got a message “Not Found. You are looking for something that isn’t there.”

    All the parts of the theme are present and in the right place, but it lacks style, which makes me think that my installation isn’t linking to the cascading style sheet (css).

    I looked at the files and folders associated with both themes and there are some pretty substantial differences, both in layout and content.

    The questions are

    Is this a difference in WP 2.6 and 2.7?
    Can I make this theme work?
    If so, how?

    As long as the theme is in its own directory like this wp-content/themes/bella and the theme has at least index.php and style.css then the theme should be ok and you should be able to activate it. There is no difference between 2.6 and 2.7 that won’t let the theme show up.
