I see on my Discussion Page the grid Nickname/Role/Website/Member Since, and all it shows is me, the admin, listed twice . . once as admin and the other as subscriber.

There is no apparent way for anyone to make any additions to the page. I’m a newbie so please fogive me if I’m missing something really obvious. But what do I need to do? THanks.

Let me add the URL to the page so you can see what I’m talking about:

Oopppsss, the page is protected πŸ˜‰
The User Community plugin does not support comments on profiles yet.
As all is hold on a single WordPress page, if you enable comments on this page (and your theme supports it), if you comment in one profile, that comment will appear in all profiles, galleries and lists.

A comment system is planned for versions 0.8 or 0.9

Thanks for getting back Txanny. If I understand you correctly, my problem was due to my allowing comments on the Community Discussion page? I unchecked “Allow Comments” b ut I don’t see any changees. Also, I don’t know how to get the registration form to appear so people can sign up.I went to Community>Settings>Log in Form and uploaded an image, but nothing seems to happen.

What are some of the most important things I don’t seem to know πŸ™‚ I appreciatew your help. Thank you.

Hi Txanny – My problem remains. I just installed the update to your plug-in and see no difference. If you go to my site you will see what I have (www.oneheadsup.org) but basically there is no apparent way I can get anything going at all. I would really appreciate knowing if it’s possible for me or not. Thanks.

It looks like you have two users, one registered as admin and another as bfields1. And both have admin as display name. I think this is what you see.

Check your users list (on dashboard) and check for this two users display names. Also looks like both users have the sanme email address (not sure), and WordPress recommends not to have more than one user with the same email as most WordPress functions relies on email being unique for each user.

Check that and tell me if I’m right and if changing it solves your duplicate.

You are right and I removed the extra listing so that only one appears now. But I don’t know how I am supposed to use the plug-in. I expected that there would be a way to have people subscribe and also a way to enter comments, start discussions, etc.. Right now the table with the correct name appears but other than that it seems nothing can be done. I appreciate your help.

If the plug-in is used only to create a list of users for all to see, then I guess we are doing OK. Is there another function th is plug-in is designed to do?

What can be done with the plugin is detailed here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/alkivia/

Mostly the plugin SHOWS user data. People subscribes and manages their profiles on the WordPress dashboard, on the pages provided by WordPress to do that.

That makes it easier. I also am using your Capability Manager and it installed perfectly. Thanks for your excellent support.
