In order to translate the plugin, you should:
1. make your translation here:
https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/forminator/stable/nb/default
2. export the .mo file from the same page
https://monosnap.com/file/SMhZxWEWbpw1Ef514JZzSGpoBr7WlV
3. rename the file to forminator-nb.mo
4. upload it to /wp-content/languages/plugins/ (just create the folders, if not exist already)

Thanks for coming back to me
I’ve been very busy but finally I’m on it again 🙂
To my knowledge I will also get a working mo file via POEdit (which is much quicker to work with), so I exported a clean po file to start with.
Then I translated all lines with “this files is required (something)”, saved and renamed the mo file to forminator-nb.mo before uploading as you described. Emptied the cache, reloaded the page with the form in, but still the error messages come in English:

I downloaded your files and tested them, they should work fine, I just made a little typo mistake in my previous reply, as they should be named:
/wp-content/languages/plugins/forminator-nb_NO.mo
/wp-content/languages/plugins/forminator-nb_NO.po
