    Hi,

    After 3 years having a live page, suddenly it stopped working saying no connection to database in backend and nothing in frontend (Config.php file was empty). checking the logfiles there seems to be a bug, that either the duplicator itself automatically or someone else (a hacker?!) has replaced the original config file! How can this happen?

    DUPLICATOR-LITE: INSTALL-LOG
    * STEP-3 START @ 05:35:19

    UPDATED WP-CONFIG: /wp-config.php’ (if present)

  • Hey @selma123,

    If the installer files were left on the server then anyone can have access to those files and may have accessed them. Did you make sure that after the install with Duplicator was completed you logged into the admin and followed the prompts to remove all installer files? This could have been the issue if you feel the site was compromised.

    Let me know if that helps address the issue.

    Hi Cory,

    Thanks for the hint, this may have been the issue indeed, that the clean up process has not been finished. Good to know to double check.

    Thanks a lot for your great support.

    No Problem. Also be sure to keep all your plugins update regularly because there are also new security issues being released.

    Cheers~
