  • Your local publication time stamp is converted to universal time (GMT or UTC) for use in the sitemap. The +00:00 is there to tell search engines that the time stamp should be treated as universal time.

    There is no option to change this.

    By the way, the <pubDate> tag is not part of the XML sitemap protocol. Are you maybe talking about the date in your normal RSS feed?
