I just noticed a major issue with your plugin. The categories and locations point to the same canonical. That is very bad for SEO purposes. For instance, I created a location named “California”. If I look at the code of the specific page for California it shows the canonical as /listing-location/ instead of showing /listing-location/california.

Same happens with each category, it shows /listing-category/ instead of /listing-category/category-name

That could be very confusing for search engines since the location and category pages point back at the main taxonomy. Do you have any plans to solve this issue? I tested it with 2 different themes as well as with or without SEO plugins, therefore the problem is coming directly from your end.

    Hi,

Sorry, currently we don’t update the canonical URL. We didn’t have any hook to update it by default. We are planning to provide support to third-party SEO plugins like Yoast. kindly contact our tech team for more details/solution by submitting a ticket to our site https://pluginsware.com/submit-a-ticket/.

    Thanks

How is this issue being resolved exactly by pluginsware?
not sure why solutions if there are any may not be discussed here in the forum?
Closing issue topics without solution would be an odd way of dealing with problems.

Is this problem solved ? Is it integrated with YOAST ?

I’m also waiting for the update with Yoast

We released our latest version with Yoast Plugin compatibility.

    Thanks
