Custom Header CSS Help

Hello, I am using this CSS code to make my custom header transparent
“#site-header {

position: absolute;

background-color: black !important;

opacity: .5;
}

#site-header .elementor-section {

background-color: transparent !important;

}”

However, the opacity makes the font and the logo in the header darker, but I want to bring them out towards the front. Any idea how I can do this? Thanks!
