Is there any major difference when trying to appear high on Google search from standard WP Post and BDP Listing?

I’ll use Yoast as I read on your knowledge but I want to know if it’s tough to positionate a Listing (with the extra /listings/listing-name) than the standard post (/post-name), as I’m planning to not publish any post on the website, only listings and pages, so if this could affect google seo.

    Thanks

    Hi @pre20,

    Thanks for contacting me here.

Google is such a black box that I’m not sure I can answer your question with any level of certainty you’d like.

Google will rank content that is relevant, sticky, and valuable to the users that consume it. If you have rich business listings that people are thumbing through regularly, then Google will figure that out. But if you have thin, sparse listings, people will skim them and Google will see that as well. No amount of “SEO work” will change that behavior, ever.

If you are looking for website content that is long form, a BDP listing is probably not the right choice for that. Something that is a WP post is probably more appropriate because you can do a lot with that.

Given that I don’t have a full understanding of your goals and how you plan to use the listings vs. posts, that’s as good an answer as I can really give here, but I hope it’s helped frame your thinking a bit since you probably understand those issues better than I do.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or issues.
