    Hello,

I am getting errors in my backups and a scan-trough of the logs looks like it’s from a Google Drive issue. The install of the plugin is new (just did it this week). I used the built-in app method to connect to my Google account. Everything seemed fine at first, but when I go to perform either backup type, I get errors that prevent the backups from completing.

ERROR: Have not yet obtained an access token from Google (has the user authorised?) (Invalid request (refresh token not present).) (no_refresh_token)

In my Google Drive settings, I see where UpDraft is a connected App, but I’m unable to do anything with it:

    Error Log: https://pastebin.com/qkkZNU72

Please advise as to my next steps to get the connection going. Should I do the “old” way of creating an API Project? And if so, do you know the steps of how I would go about doing that? I found your older support page for it, but the API Project Credentials area is VERY different now and it’s not something I can reasonably guess at 🙁

    Thank you!

    Hi,

No refresh token was received from Google. This often means that you have not yet authenticated Google Drive successfully. Please recheck all Google settings and credentials, then follow the link to authenticate again.

If that does not work, then use expert mode to wipe all your settings and start again. Also, if you are using any caching or security plugin, I would also recommend temporarily disabling it first.

    Kind Regards,
    Bryle

I’m sorry but I do not understand. What is there to recheck? I used the single-click button within the plugin that then took me to the plugin’s app for the integration. It asked me to connect my Google account to it, I said yes. I followed the link and it said success. Within the Google Drive settings itself, all I see is what I showed you in the above screenshot.

And what do you mean by ‘expert mode’. Expert mode where? Is that a WordPress thing? A Google thing? A mode in Updraft Plus itself?

    I have no caching plugin.

    Thank you

    Hi,

    Apologies for the delay.

It is possible that the final step in authenticating did not complete correctly, due to being blocked by our server security. I have whitelisted your site’s IP address now

Please could you go to the Google Drive settings in the UpdraftPlus Settings tab.
There, you should see the following link:
After you have saved your settings (by clicking 'Save Changes' below), then come back here once and click this link to complete authentication with Google Drive.

Please can you follow that link, which will take you through the authentication process again. After being returned to your WP Admin page, does the success notification look like the following:

Success: you have authenticated your Google Drive account. Name: Alan Smithee. Your Google Drive quota usage: 9.9 % used, 13837 MB available

If the notice does not include your Google Drive account details like the above, please could you let us know?

    I’m still having no success.

I went into the settings and saw a message that said ‘you are already authenticated’. There was a link to remove the settings from Google drive, so I followed that to start over.
After this fresh attempt at authenticating and following the links and instructions, it took me back to my website dashboard and I saw the following message:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/nww3kogsewdgh1d/UpdraftPlusError.JPG?dl=0

Then I went to the Settings tab within the Updraft Plus and saw the same message that I had started with. It seems to indicated that I am successfully connected:

After attempting another backup, I’m still getting errors in the error log for the same reason:

    Anything else I should try?

    Thank you

    Hi,

    Apologies for the delay.

I may have unblocked the incorrect IP address. Please could you check the IP address for your site in your hosting control panel, and enter it into the following form:
    https://updraftplus.com/unblock-ip-address/

Then, attempt to authenticate again. If the authentication is successful, the success message should show your Google Drive username.

    Best Wishes,
    David N
