Change payment method after order is completed

    Hey there

    Wondering if there would be a way to change the payment method of a completed order in wp-admin from cash to card (or from card to cash). In daily business this option would save a lot of time for our shop workers. The workaround is to cancel an order and make a completely new order with the same products, discounts and the right payment method. Wouldn’t there be an easier way to achieve this?

    Hi there,

    Would you mind elaborating a bit more on the use-case here? Why would you like to switch between the two?

    Out of the box that’s not possible since the user already paid for their order on the front end; Changing their method of payment might be seen as fraud in some jurisdictions.

    Hi RK

    We are using WooCommerce for our online shop and with a POS for our stores. I agree, that this is not allowed for orders made in the online shop, because the payment is already made and should normally be right. For the physical stores it’s different. Shop workers are doing a lot of orders per day with different payment options, means that they are sometimes making mistakes and have to correct them afterwards. (same as with a old cash register).
