Are there any specific plugins which this one doesn’t play well with?
There are many plugins that don’t play well with Contact Form 7. As one of the most popular plugins on WordPress & because emails from form submissions stopping is something people often notice as soon as things go wrong, Contact Form 7 acts a bit like a canary in a coal mine sniffing out plugins that cause problems.
Switch temporarily to a WP default theme & disable all plugins other than Contact Form 7 to see if the problem goes away.
If it does you can switch back to your theme & re-activate each plugin one by one to see when the problem occurs.

Thanks for the prompt reply. This is a website I’ve inherited. In the past 10 min, I figured out that even though there was a Contact Form 7 installed on the site, that the contact form is actually the Avada Theme contact form. Ergo, why changes were not honored… So annoying. Perhaps this post will help someone in the future!
