• I’ve recently installed your plugin and ran several tests and got the emails to send to an individual. I would like to send emails to a role however it fails to even show up in the list of sent emails when I do. I am using s2member for a membership application and they have roles that work with WordPress. I’m attempting to send an email to level 2 role which is my association’s board of directors (7 people). I intend to use this with the paid members of our association which is about 192 members out of approx. 260 subscribers. If the role component won’t work, then this tool won’t support my needs. I would think that your application would display the list of users associated with a role so that the user could eliminate some of the users from that role is need be. At present you select a role from the list and there is no response to determine if it selected the people associated with the role or not. Please advise.

I did exactly that. I selected the role alternative, and then was able to see the s2member roles in the list and selected the one I wanted and then the email never got sent. I checked the Sent Email option and saw that it had failed. I’m assuming it’s because I selected a role that although was listed in WP but that wasn’t understood by your application (not one of the standard roles). If you can explain how to troubleshoot the failed emails for further information on why they failed, please share that.

    Hello earlsn ,

Wp email users is not mean to send emails to customized roles nor it can be used in conjunction with any other group plugin currently, but sooner we are going to release plugin with this feature with which you can use wp email user in conjunction with few popular group plugins.

When you work on the expanded roles, you should consider showing a list of the email addresses so that the user can consider removing some from that list. I do hope you investigate working with s2member plugin. I was able to develop a work around, I can extract the email addresses from s2member and filter on the roles and then import the addresses into the default mailing list. It’s a bit time consuming but it works. Thanks for your assistance.
