Well i have serious problem with amp navigation menu with you plugin. I have tested it with like 4 different themes and everytime i get no AMP i land everytime on homepage and i get stuck there no way to move like in a room without door to exit. And when i try other plugin i get automatically amp menu only i often get google errors with those plugin. I seriously want to give a your plugin a try as when i test my pages with google amp test i get no error. So is there a way to get amp menu if yes how ?.

And again your plugin says in order to reach amp page i need to append /amp at the end of the link but when i do that i get no amp page. only when i append /?amp that is when i see amp page. i would love seeing them with /amp extenstion as my pages are indexed at google with /amp.

hoping to hear from you soon

and thank you in advance for help

Sorry, I’m having a hard time fully understanding what you’ve written. I’ll try to respond.

The plugin does not provide any nav menu in its templates. Going forward it will be recommended to use the new paired and native template modes to fully re-use your theme’s templates, including your existing menus: https://github.com/Automattic/amp-wp/wiki/Adding-Theme-Support

And again your plugin says in order to reach amp page i need to append /amp at the end of the link but when i do that i get no amp page. only when i append /?amp that is when i see amp page. i would love seeing them with /amp extenstion as my pages are indexed at google with /amp.

If you want to access the AMP version of a page, you should locate the AMP version via the amphtml link that appears in the canonical version of the page. For example, on your page:

    <link rel="amphtml" href="https://taxi-brussels-airport.com/?amp">

If you want to add a nav menu to the legacy templates, then you can customize the templates to do so: https://github.com/Automattic/amp-wp/wiki/Legacy-Templating-And-Customization

But again, this is for the legacy templating. I suggest trying the 1.0-beta2 version of the plugin: https://github.com/Automattic/amp-wp/releases/tag/1.0-beta2

Try switching to the new paired mode or native mode.

At least this is a pretty client answer you do not provide nav menu with your plugin (good to know) because wordpress.com support agents really thought that was a bug as a minimum of an AMP plugin is to provide nav menu as not everyone has coding experiance to go and temper with php.files as this seems the solution you are giving me in order to have menu. “i do not have coding experiance” i will then do with an amp version of page without menu -it is not the end of the world- the day you will update your plugin to integrate nav menu (if you ever do) then i will have nav menu on my amp pages.

This i believe is something i can do. but using wordpress.com i do not have direct access to html files so how do you suggest me to modify this in html files? does this have to be in the header of every html file ? if that the case i think i can use header and footer plugin as it is the only way with wordpress.com to add code in header. unless you suggest me other easy solution (not like the one of adding nav menu as i said it is beyond my small coding knowledge) and thank you very much to finally answering my question

could you please give me more specific guidelines as getting nav menu is becoming really crucial for my website as i have noticed that my amp version of website is being well positioned in google SERPs whereas normal version is still far behind. i then need menu on amp otherwise i will be losing visitors and or will have high bounce rate which is very bad and no meny simply gives user very bad experiance

    thank you for your help

But again, this is for the legacy templating. I suggest trying the 1.0-beta2 version of the plugin: https://github.com/Automattic/amp-wp/releases/tag/1.0-beta2

After reading this so many times i finally undestood that it was as simple as installing the 1.0-beta2 plugin in place of the pluging at wordpress.com library.

I gave it a try yesterday in fact i could see nav menu. only this is not dedicated AMP menu. it is the same menu as in non-amp page. it is not as if i could create custom amp menu and decide to use that one for amp pages. my theme still has one menu location and i thought i could have amp menu location and create specific menu just for amp.

i use multilingual website with 10 langages on normal version the language box comes as dropdown combo box which is okay but on amp version no dropdown combo box just a long list of different languages which is not good to see. i had possibility to create amp menu i could for instancte remove (langage switcher in amp menu)

And again i have an i frame which is rendering just very bad with 1.0-beta2 plugin (i frame not showing all content despite attribute lenghth 1500px yet the rendering is just perfect with plugin in wordpress.com library.

So as for now i just uninstalled beta version and reused previous version (the one working and not offering nav menu) i wait until beta version works better

but thanks for all the work you do behind to have all this work perfectly

P.S i am really willing to test your beta version but not with the errors it has at this time i give it a try again when new realese is out
