• After I updated the theme I have several problems.

I use a child theme (just use footer.php and style.css).

Fatal error: Call to undefined function evolve_get_option() in /home/todosmis/public_html/wp-content/themes/evolve-child/footer.php on line 23

I change the footer.php at child folder whith the new one.

Now it works but it don’t show the static home page.

Well, I have to disable the child theme to evolve and works.

How should I configure the child theme correctly to work with the latest update?

    Thank you!

Thanks for you answer TUT Support.

My child theme was done like in the video that you sent me, but something is wrong with the home page, because when I set the child theme it doesnt work. Not content at all, an empty page, I just can see the header and bottom.

    Thanks!

    Hi Claudio,
I am grappling with the same issue, evolve being one of my least favorite themes to update. I am finally getting back to it on my staging site now that I have time. Here is a post about menu issues upgrading from evolve free 3.5 https://wordpress.org/support/topic/menu-problems-on-upgrade/?replies=30
Can you see your php errors? I had to get rid of a call in the footer: PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function evolve_get_option(). I’ll keep you posted on the home content issue, I’ll be working on that in the next couple of weeks. Let me know if you’ve found anything out on your end. I really liked this theme, but don’t use it anymore for new sites because of the upgrade surprises. This is not a caching or a “how to create a child theme” issue. It looks like they are moving to a new framework soon, so I’m going to spend some time on the last set of changes before they do.

    Hi @zignorp,

framework has been moved – to Kirki, which made the theme much faster and stable 😉
