    Hello,
I use my NAS to backup my blog and when I looked at my backup file I had the surprise to discover that it was about 100Gb…
I set up UpdraftPlus to keep only 3 backups… but it seems that it kept some (but not all) the backup since I started to backup on my NAS8 month ago…
Why those backups are not deleted automatically ? Manuel deletion is a pain in the ass…

    Hi,

To help us know the cause of the issue, please could you send us a copy of the latest backup log? This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab.

The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

    Best Wishes,
    Bryle

    Hi,

During the backup run in the log file, the oldest backup set, which was due for deletion, was 2018-07-22-1219. Is that backup set still on your NAS? The filenames for it all begin backup_2018-07-22-1219_Byothe_3787146e9162-.

    Hello David,
I don’t know what happened… but It’s now working fine… I don’t have the backup your talking about anymore… and I only have the 3 last backups (like I wanted)…
But I don’t know what happened… a few days ago… I had all the backups since octobre 2017…

Perhaps you pressed “rescan remote storage”? That enables UD to learn of any on the remote storage that it previously (for some reason) no longer knew about. And once that’s the case, it is able to delete them when it knows they’re not needed.

    Yeah… I did that…
Do I need to do it frequently ?

You shouldn’t do. I have a vague memory that some time ago there was a bug affecting deleting. So I guess you’ve now caught up with the ones that weren’t deleted in the past with the buggy version installed.
