Hello,

It has been a while since I last updated my website. I go to the wp-admin login page as usual, and I enter my information. But instead of sending me to the admin page, it sends me to my website homepage, with no sign of the admin dashboard, so there is no way I can edit anything. I tried to login again using an obviously wrong username and password (random letters), and it would send me to my website homepage again. What is going on? Even if I type in the wrong password and username it still looks like it logs me in and sends me to the front page of my website, but without the admin dashboard.

I am very inexperienced at this but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
