cURL error 7: Failed to connect to api.shortpixel.com port 443: No route to host

    Hi,
    I see several (not all afaict) popups with
    cURL error 7: Failed to connect to api.shortpixel.com port 443: No route to host

    Not sure why this happens. Right now. Can’t Shortpixel handle the load? Or is it something else. Most images seem to get processed just fine, just a few dozens.

    Will I be able to repeat the optimizations for those?

    Gerd,
    thanks for your message first of all!

    It is the first time I see such an error and my first guess it is that it has to do with your network connection that it’s not stable. Do you host your site on a server in a datacenter or is it “home hosted”?

    Anyway, if an image wasn’t optimized do to some errors you should be able to attempt to optimize it again without problems.

    Our server is gandi.net. We use Simple Hosting with PHP:
    https://www.gandi.net/en/simple-hosting

    FWIW, its has the following public IPs:
    https://wiki.gandi.net/en/simple/faq#public_ip_addresses_of_instances_for_authorization

    maybe you can see these Addresses in your log files. We use:
    > For the Luxembourg datacenter (dc2): 217.70.186.133 and 217.70.186.134

    As said, it works for most images. For all times when the cUrl error happened, I needed to repeat — mostly, it work after a few tries.

    Thanks for the additional details, not sure why this issue occurred but please try to contact us directly here if this persists to try to investigate.
    It looks like it is a routing problem somewhere but we haven’t seen something like this before.

    I’ll close the ticket for now.
