Can you imagine, the reason for this problem is sitting in front of your computer?
You should realize, Polylang is installed 100.000 times and it is working as expected.
I can confirm the problem is most likely in front of that computer. Works perfectly fine with Divi.
I installed on Divi 3.17.6 and it blanked out my home page. Nothing was there except the menu bar. Deactivated the plugin and is everything is back. It really does not work fine with Divi.

@geberxt
It works fine with Divi, and I speak out of experience.
After you install the plugin on an existing site you should create a default language and assign all content to it (can be done with a single click within the plugin).
Have you followed the installation guide at all?

I did follow the installation guide and did set my default language. Perhaps it has a conflict with another plugin. I had a problem with another translator as well so it must be a conflict issue.
Have you also assigned all existing content to the default language before translating content? That’s a very important step.
