One hour has passed, so I suppose you already solved your problem…
It is simple.
The simpliest method is to use the button in your post editor. Open a post in your admin area and there among the buttons above your writing box should be a button “Add nextgen gallery”. It will let you select the gallery and the way it is displayed – test it so that you know what you can get. It will place the tag for you. Doesn’t matter if you do it in the visual or html mode.
Other possibility is to place the tag yourself. It will look like this [nggallery id=11] (other tags are also possible – see what tags the button produces for different options). The number in the tag refers to the gallery ID number. You can find ID numbers of each gallery you create in the “Manage Gallery” menu under “Gallery” options goup in your admin area.

thanks you, but I actually still have not got it working…maybee Im retarded??? anyway I also need to change the permissions on the gallery folder right???Im on a mac and I checked the permissions via get info and it said that the permissions are read & write?

Got it working I totally did not notice the icon that was added to the tool bar for the nexgen gallery…Sorry Im a coder and in wsysig interfaces I get lost real easy

am working with wp 2.7.1 and latest version of nextgen. i have created a gallery but am unable to call by using the icon in the post/pages menu. it freezes everytime. any idea why?
