Small. Just a few KB.
The image is 128k.
There might be something else that might be causing this issue. Lets try the following. While the plugin is disabled in your site carry out the following step.
– FTP the .htaccess file from your site to your computer and edit and remove all the code between and including the following tags: Make sure you upload the .htaccess file back into the same location you downloaded the file from via FTP.
# BEGIN All In One WP Security
# END All In One WP Security
Once the above is done, try to upload a file via FTP. Let me know how you go.

Thank you for the quick response. My apologies for the delay.
Yes, once I disable the plugin and remove the bits from htaccess I can upload to the ftp server.
Is there a way I can upload to the FTP without having to do this each time? That’s very cumbersome.

Are you saying that the plugin blocks access to your FTP server? Or are you saying that the plugin blocks you from using a third party FTP program like FileZilla to upload files via FTP?

I can access the FTP server.
With the plugin enabled, I can use a third party FTP program like FileZilla to download files, but I cannot upload or overwrite anything using a third party FTP client.
That is very strange. So you are saying that you can’t upload a file to your FTP server using FileZilla for example while the plugin is enabled? Is this correct?

Yes. That is correct. When the plugin is enabled, I get an error that I cannot overwrite or upload a file. When I disable the plugin, it works just fine.
Try the following, enable the plugin but disable all Firewall Rules. Then try to upload a file via FTP using FileZilla. Let me know what happens.

Just gave it a go. Not one firewall rule enabled.
Filezilla failed to transfer the file. Reason: could not start transfer.
Okay, now keep all Firewall Rules disabled and also all Brute Force rules disabled. Let me know what happens.

So after disabling all Firewall and Brute Force rules what is left enabled in the plugin settings?

That’s what I’ve been trying to figure out as well.
On the dashboard: “file permissions” is green and turned on. How do I turn that off?
Hi, what I meant in my previous post is this. Can you share here all the other settings that are enabled after you have disabled all Firewall and Brute Force rules.
