    Hello all,

I’m a first-time user of WordPress, and I’d like to get it up and running so that I can transfer my old site over to the new WordPress installation. While I find it easy to create posts and pages on WordPress, one thing I’d like to do is a “Photo Update”.

No, it’s not just putting a picture into a post, that would be easy and I already know how to do that. Rather, a photo update is when I go through and put up a bunch of pictures in order with captions, like this: http://www.cheezonastick.net/update.php?id=1

Of course, I have no idea how to re-make this in WordPress, so I was wondering if I could get a little help. Here’s what I want to do:
1.) All of my photo updates are in a category called “Updates” that doesn’t get displayed on the main page
2.) After the first 10 pictures of an update, it has links to the next/previous page
3.) At the end of the update, it has my “notes” from that update which is usually just an un-ordered list

I hope that explains what I’m trying to do. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

    Thanks,

    -Jon Roost

Have you looked at any of the Photo or Gallery plugins? I’m not suggesting that any of them will have exactly what you need but they might get you partway there.

I have looked at the various gallery plugins, and really they provide great photo galleries, but that’s not the route I’m going. I’m almost looking for a kind of pagination thing that will allow me to do multiple pages per “page” asset.
