    Hi
In the European Union, the new GDPR laws require that websites ensure that visitors are provided with opt-in/out options for being contacted. With regards to the “Give – Donation Plugin and Fundraising Platform”, on the donation page it would be handy if opt-in checkboxes were given to users. I can see there is currently we can enable terms and conditions, but most users will not read through terms. A checkbox or radio button would ensure that users are explicitly made aware of the sites’ GDPR policies and what their options are.

Please take a look at this page to understand what charities need to have in place in the EU:-

Please, can you include the necessary options for users to choose where they can be contacted by email or other channels after making a donation?

    Please also read this page:-

All donation pages in the EU should really have opt-in checkboxes or radio buttons to ensure users give consent to be contacted. It would be great if this feature was included in the plugin settings, please?

Thanks for your input. We’ve written our own guide on that as well, which you can read here:

The Terms and Conditions checkbox serves that purpose quite well actually. And we have a snippet if you prefer for the toggle to be disabled and the terms always explicitly visible:

    Thanks!

    Hi Matt

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I’ll make do with the Terms checkbox as advised. I’ve just finished writing specific terms for the client.

    many thanks!

Great to hear. We’ll be doing some more comprehensive updates related to GDPR over the next months, so watch for those updates soon.

    Thanks!
