Hello, I’m trying to create a custom archive page for a custpom post type I did on WP types, however when I go to edit the archive page on elementor I can’t see the Layout Metabox to enable the generatepress sidebar. I love that sidebar but unfortunately I can’t use it with a custom post type & elementor archive template.

Do you have any idea if I’m missing something? thanks

    Hi there,

The metabox will only appear if the custom post type is set to public. Can you check your post type registration to make sure it’s public?

    Let me know 🙂

Sorry, I think I explained myself wrong.

The layout metabox do appear on the custom post types.

It doesn’t appear on Single & Archive Models from elementor.

Should I get in touch with elementor team? Strangely other metaboxes like yoast are appearing there.

It’s possible that those areas aren’t set to public. It may be worth asking the Elementor team to clarify.

Hey Tom, I tried to change to CPT UI and same things happen.

The good thing is that if I just create the CPT the sidebar appears fine. However when I create a “single template” to override the wordpress default one it doesn’t import the sidebar.

This is an elementor fault not yours of course. Thanks for your time!

No problem! Let me know if there’s anything I can do 🙂
