I used this plugin to upload a new custom theme into a clients dashboard. It worked perfectly, great product. But now the client would like to change a couple things and these changes will mean creating 1 new template, adding to the data base, and changing another template. Making the changes locally is easy enough, what is the best way to get the edits into the clients dashboard and update the theme? If I follow the same steps as I did to upload the entire theme and data base, will that create a clone theme or will it automatically update the theme already in use. I see that I can just download the templates through the advanced options. Will exporting the templates and importing them in the clients dashboard automatically add them to the theme?

Did my best to read through the documentation, if I missed s
something obvious I apologize. I hope this all makes sense. Thanks in advance!

    Export using advanced options.

If you only want to include the theme, check every checkbox except “Do not export theme files”. This option is useful when you want to update just the themes.

    – or –

If you made changes in the database that you want to move over to the site, under advanced options leave 2 options unchecked:
[ ] Do not export theme files
[ ] Do not export database (sq)

Note that importing the database will overwrite the database on the server. Do this only if there is no data on the server you are importing that you care about.

Great, that all makes sense. I am very new to updating WP and more so this plugin. The templates utilize custom fields and obviously they have been filled with custom content by the user. Will updating the database and templates erase all the content and revert it back to default images and dummy text? Will I have to re-enter all the text and pics for the site after this update?

Sorry if these are pretty basic questions, thanks for your help!

If you want to make changes locally, you should backup the main site and load that backup locally. Ensure that no changes are made on the main site while you are working on the site offline. Make your changes and then migrate from your local implementation back to the live site. That way you will not lose any data.
