Hi,
No, it won’t impact it, that’s a staging site. A completely different installation than the production one.
BUT due to this being a very sensitive topic I would recommend you double-check with your hosting provider. WP Reset only touches the WP installation it’s installed on. So if these are 2 separate installations – you’re good 🙂
Hi WebFactory,
I created the staging environment with the WP-Staging plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-staging/). In the description of the plugin, it notes that, “It creates a clone of your website into a subfolder of your main WordPress installation including an entire copy of your database.”
If i’m reading this right, it sounds like this is still using a single installation, right? So probably a no go for the reset?
No, quite the contrary. It creates a copy of the database and files so you can test things on the staging site. So you’re good to go.
Before resetting completely you can delete a few posts/pages on the staging site and see that they will still be available on the production one.
If you have a minute please rate the plugin. It helps us out a lot. Thank you! https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wp-reset/reviews/#new-post
