The first thing you might do is move all the theme folders that are in wp-content/themes into a different folder EXCEPT for default and classic.
That will cause WP to revert to the default theme. That may let you back into your system.
Ok I’m going to try that I do it from my Ftp right?
yes
ok i did that and nothing changed. any more suggestions or perhaps im doing something wrong i have no idea how to use my ftp client im winging it. the person who orginally uploaded my theme is not available to help he usually fixes my errors and sad to say i know nothing.
Do you have access to your web hosting?
And are you sure your site was hacked? What makes you say it was hacked?
It looks more like an error. Did you add a new plugin or change a setting somewhere.Usually, hackers like to change your password or display their image on your site, not show a WordPress error.
Yes I have access my hosting it’s through godaddy. I contacted them first and they didn’t offer much help. My friend who uploaded my theme and usually fixes my errors said it was hacked. I have no idea what is really going on I can’t even log onto my wordpress acct and I’m not sure how to fix things using my FTP client. My site has only been up about 3 weeks and I’m lost 🙁
I did recently edit my style sheet and he said my permissions were open. I think that’s the term he used.
What I would do is:
1) get a backup of your WP files
2) get a backup of your WP database
3) Move the existing WP files out of the folder they are in, into a temp folder
4) download the WordPress files again from the wordpress site, and upload the new files into the same folder the original install was in.
I realize you don’t know how to do those things, but find someone who can do them.
5) someone who knows WP (such as on the forum) should take a look at the wp-config.php file from the hacked install – you do need to add a wp-config file into the new installation of files – if the old one has not been hacked it can be used as is.
6) next try to connect to the site. If the database has not been hacked these steps should have you back in business using the default WP theme with your existing posts still in place. If the database has been hacked that won’t work but it needs to be tried.
I haven’t seen too many hacks but the ones I have seen they add PHP code into the existing files and themes, nothing into the database, so the odds are pretty good your database will be OK. You will also have to copy your images back from the backed up version, but I would wait til the basic site is back together before dealing with that.
sorry about all this – i know its a bad feeling
I doubt your host would be able to help much. This isn’t a server problem or anything on their end.
Hard to tell from my end. What you could try is deleting your plugins through FTP. Once deleted, they will automatically be deactivated. Sometimes plugins can cause issues like this. Just note which plugins you are currently using so you can upload and install them later (one by one).
To find them, use your FTP account and navigate to your wp-content/plugins directory and delete one plugin (it’ll either be a file or folder) at a time. When you delete one, check to see if your site is back up, if not, delete another and then check again – and so on.
I can’t guarantee this will work, but it’s a place to start.
Thank you but wow I am so overwhelmed. I don’t know if I can find someone willing to help. Do you know where I can go online to try to learn the ins and outs about wordpress?
Our site is geared for WordPress bloggers. We have our own little WordPress Tutorials School area if you’re interested with lots of videos.
There are videos on there to show how to back up your blog (like how stvwlf said) through the web hosting control panel – no WordPress login required.
I’ll check this post tomorrow morning and see if you’ve made any progress. If not, I’ll see if I can help you get back online tomorrow.
Cool?
@ WpBlogHost

“We’re sorry. This video is no longer available”No problem. Why don’t you go ahead and use our contact us form on our site so I can get your email address and I can help from there.
Good luck.
John
