Register Side Bar Widget error

    register_sidebar_widget is deprecated since version 2.8! Use wp_register_sidebar_widget() instead. in /home/content/19/9468119/html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2705

    I am receiving this error and I have turned off all plugins, it does go away when I use another theme, When I use this theme (which I have had for about 4 years) all content disappears and this line error is all I get. I have searched all function code and cannot find this anywhere. Please help I don’t have time to redesign a site.

    Any help appreciated. Super Desperate
